BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – The Turkish regime demanded on Wednesday that the People’s Protection Units (YPG) immediately withdraw from the key city of Manbij in northeastern Aleppo.
The Turkish regime released a statement during their National Security Council meeting, calling on the YPG to leave Manbij before they launch an operation to expel them from the town.
The YPG has repeatedly refused to surrender Manbij, despite the fact that the Turkish regime has threatened to invade the area.
Making matters worse for Ankara, the U.S. has not given the green light to Turkey to begin this operation in Manbij; this could prove to be a major issue down the road, as Washington refuses to support this Turkish offensive.
