BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – Turkey announced on Saturday, the results of “Operation Tiger Claw”, which was launched in northern Iraq earlier this week.
According to Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, his country’s armed forces struck “700 PKK targets” since its launch in northern Iraq.
Akar pointed out, as reported by the Anadolu Agency, that “the Turkish Armed Forces stormed and destroyed the dens and hideouts of terrorists over their heads in the framework of the military operation.”
He said, “Since the beginning of the operation, about 150 caves and a large amount of ammunition were controlled and more than 160 explosive devices were destroyed, in addition to bombing more than 700 targets.”
The Turkish Defense Ministry announced, at dawn last Wednesday, the launch of a new military operation in northern Iraq.
