Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem lashed out at Turkey, stressing that Ankara is still backing the terrorists in Syria and providing them with weapons.

During meeting with Chinese Special Envoy for Syria, Ambassador Xie Xiaoyan and the accompanying delegation on Thursday, Moallem stressed that Damascus will continue the war on terrorism in parallel with the political process in Geneva, SANA news agency reported.

“Al-Moallem stressed that the people and government of Syria continue combating terrorism and terrorist groups,” SANA reported.

“Some countries such as Turkey is still backing them by facilitating the flow of terrorists and providing them with modern weapons to open fronts for supporting them,” the Syrian news agency quoted Moallem as saying.

It said that the meeting dealt with the regional developments, the crisis in Syria and means to find a solution which preserves the interests of the Syrian People and their right to an independent decision and sovereignty of the Syrian lands.

  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
