Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told A Haber broadcaster on Monday that his country will allow the family of the Syrian air force pilot whose jet crashed on Turkish territory to visit him at the hospital.
This comes despite Turkey being one of the leading supporters of militant groups fighting against Syrian government forces.
“This is a humanitarian issue. Permission will be granted (for the visit),” Yildirim said.
He then revealed that a committee will be established to investigate the reasoning for the crash.
