BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:50 A.M.) – The Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim fired back at French President Emmanuel Macron for his warning to Ankara earlier today.
“If France is interpreting this issue as an [invasion operation], we need to assess what they have done in Syria accordingly,” Yildirim stated during his joint press conference with Lebanese Premier Saad Hariri.
“This is a crooked idea from the start. The whole world knows that Turkey is not acting with an invasive mind. They should know it too,” he concluded.
The French President has been one of the biggest critics of Ankara’s military operation in Afrin, going as far as warning the Turkish regime about creating more problems in Syria.
