BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – Turkey has allegedly called on the Syrian government to allow them more time to persuade the jihadist rebels to leave the Idlib buffer zone.

According to the Syrian daily Al-Watan, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and their allies have never retreated from the established demilitarized zone in northwestern Syria.

The daily further stated that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, Hurras al-Deen and the Turkestan Islamic Party have reinforced their positions and hidden their heavy weapons, adding that the jihadist groups have decided to remain in the demilitarized zone in northeastern Lattakia, northwestern Hama, and southeastern, northern and southern Idlib.

The paper said that Turkish intelligence has thus far been unsuccessful in persuading Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham to leave its positions in the demilitarized zone, adding that Ankara has called on Damascus via Moscow to delay any military operation and give them more time to do their undertakings with regard to the expulsion of the jihadists form the zone.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Si Erdogan quiere contribuir con el proceso lo mejor que debe hacer es poner buses verdes para trasladar a su territorio y habrá paz duradera…
Hasta cuando Rusia permitirá que Erdogan manipule.
