BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 A.M.) – U.S. President Donald Trump stated during his joint press conference with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron that he wants to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria “relatively soon,” the Daily Sabah reported.
According to the report, Trump wants to withdraw U.S. troops, but not before their mission is complete.
“We want to come home. We’ll be coming home. But we want to leave a strong and lasting footprint, and that was a very big part of our discussion,” Trump stated.
Last month, Trump told an audience in Ohio that he wanted to bring the U.S. troops home from Syria, as their mission was nearly complete.
