Bassem al-Safi, a top commander of the pro-government Kata’ib Hezbollah force was killed in the southern Iraqi city of Basra by unidentified gunmen.
The unidentified gunmen shot at the car he was traveling in at the Hayaniya neighborhood of the city.
Another person who was with the former representative of Basra Provincial Council, only sustained an injury, whilst Safi later died in hospital.
Kata’ib Hezbollah comproses a part of the Popular Mobilization Units, a mostly Shi’ite pro-government militia.
