BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 A.M.) – A number of units from the elite Tiger Forces are heading to the northeastern Latakia front to help with the ongoing battle at the key town of Kabani, a source told Al-Masdar this evening.

According to the source, the Tiger Forces will be tasked with helping the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces) of the 4th Armored Division capture the mountaintop town of Kabani.

The source did not specify how many soldiers from the Tiger Forces are heading to Latakia; however, he did indicate that the remaining troops in northwestern Hama would be continuing their operations near Jabal Al-Zawiya.

For the Syrian Army, Kabani is an imperative military endeavor that will pave the way for their troops to impose fire control over the remaining areas inside the Latakia Governorate.

Furthermore, capturing Kabani will give the Syrian Army the territorial advantage should they choose to attack the key city of Jisr Al-Shughour.

There has been no word on whether or not the Syrian Army will push to Jisr Al-Shughour; however, if they do so, it will likely be a very violent battle with the jihadist groups in the area.

“May God be with the SAA/RuAf in this endeavour.” Or using the vernacular, “Give it to the reprobate jihadis”

The SAA advance into the receding terrorist enclave of Idlib has been quite swift and with very little casualties, which shows a high degree of professionalism and combined arms operational capability, and of-course Russian airpower and very precise air attacks have been instrumental for SAA advance and hardly any civilian casualties, unlike the US cowards who bomb indiscriminately and kill civilians from Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen to Syria. It is also time for Syria to declare its airspace closed to all non-invited aircraft and shoot a few US thugs down, like President Hafez al Assad did in the 1980’s over Lebanon… Read more »

We all know both Russia and Syria have been bombing indiscriminately all over. Barrel bombs target only civilians.

You are also illogical proposing to let Syrië shoot US airplanes over its airspace over Lebanon. It might surprise you but Lebanese airspace is not Syrian. Not even talking on Syrian incapabilities to do so.

No, Syrië better guard its rear. With all capable forces in West Hama, the Badiya is largely unprotected. IS has been massing its forces there.

What a pile of bull you dropped here. “we all know both Russia and Syria have been bombing indiscriminately all over. Barrel bombs target only civilians.” ==> At this point of the war and considering massive Russian air-force support, they do not even need that tactically. The Russkies use dumb ordnance with CCIP-like targeting capability in quantity for general runs, and smart weapons for high-value targets. Even assuming they once did use barrel bombs (which is quite probable considering documented evidence, I for one am not an apologist for any side in a war, notwithstanding my position on who should… Read more »
