The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and their allies are finally on the offensive in the Aleppo Governorate’s southeastern countryside, striking several sites that were captured by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) along the strategic Khanasser-Aleppo Road just 48 hours ago.
According to a source from the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over Tal SyriaTel and several other hilltops near the strategic city of Khanasser after a violent battle with ISIS in the Hama Governorate’s northeastern countryside.
Despite claims of its capture, the Syrian Armed Forces have yet to seize the small village of Rasm Al-Nafal in southeast Aleppo; this was confirmed by a Tiger Forces source that stated they only managed to enter the village, but that they had not established control of it yet.
Clashes are ongoing between the Syrian Armed Forces and ISIS at several points along the Khanasser-Aleppo Road and the Sheikh Hilal-Ithriyah Road.
The latter road is the scene of the most intense firefights taking place in the northeastern Hama countryside.
