The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – continued their advance in the northern countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur) on Friday, liberating new sites from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near Brigade 550 Base.

Leading the charge on Friday was the Tiger Forces’ “Al-Hamza Brigade”; they would push further north along the Murbet Al-Hassan Mountains, where ISIS has been launching artillery strikes against the advancing forces from the Syrian Arab Army.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Al-Hamza Brigade and their allies liberated Storage Base 410 and the Special Forces Storage Base that is located just north of the Mazar Mountains and northeast of the recently seized Brigade 550 Base.

The Syrian Armed Forces are now pushing west towards the Murbet Al-Hassan Mountains in order to kick out the remaining ISIS fighters lurking around this strategic site in east Homs.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
