The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – alongside Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigade), the Republican Guard, and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – have liberated another village from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the Khanasser Plains of southeastern Aleppo after advancing north from the recently captured city of Khanasser this morning.

According to a source from the Tiger Forces in southeastern Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over the village of Al-Mughayrat after a violent battle with ISIS near the strategic city of Khanasser.

The source added that several militants from ISIS were killed during the successful military operation to liberate the village of Al-Mughayrat, including several foreign fighters from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Chechnya, Lebanon, Malaysia, and Pakistan.

With Al-Mughayrat under their control, the Tiger Forces and their allies have advanced towards the village of Hawaz, which was seized by ISIS during their abrupt offensive just 48 hours ago.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are making significant progress inside Shilallal Al-Kabeera after they successfully entered this large village in the Khanasser Plains last night.

Only a small parcel of territory remains under the control of ISIS in the Khanasser Plains; however, once this flatland area is captured, the Syrian Armed Forces will have to shift their attention to the Sheikh Hilal-Ithriyah Road in order to reopen their only supply route to Aleppo.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
