The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and their allies have reversed much of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) gains inside the Khanasser Plains over the last 24 hours, marking a rapid turnaround at this volatilele front in the Aleppo Governorate’s southeastern countryside.
Minutes ago, the Tiger Forces – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Republican Guard, and Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigade) – imposed full control over the imperative village of Shilallah Al-Kabeera in the Khanasser Plains’ northern countryside after a violent battle with ISIS that began last night.
In addition to capturing Shilallah Al-Kabeera, the Tiger Forces and their allies have also advanced to Al-Hawaz’s southern perimeter; if the aforementioned village is captured by the government forces, then ISIS will likely withdraw from the Khanasser Plains in order to avoid encirclement.
Helping the Tiger Forces and their allies from above is the Russian Air Force; they have relentlessly pounded ISIS’ defenses with several powerful airstrikes, leaving many terrorists dead and wounded in the process.
According to a military source in southeast Aleppo, the Tiger Forces plan to reverse all of ISIS’ remaining gains and reopen the government’s only supply route alone the Khanasser-Aleppo Road in the next 48 hours.
