BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 A.M.) – The commander of the Tiger Forces, Major General Suheil Al-Hassan, was awarded a Russian military medal for his service in Syria, the group’s media wing reported on Wednesday morning.

According to the reports, General Al-Hassan was awarded the Order of Surorov, which is primarily given to military officers that display outstanding leadership on the battlefield.

Only senior officers are eligible to receive this Russian military medal; it is one of several medals that General Al-Hassan has received for his role in the Syrian conflict.

General Al-Hassan has been the commander of the Tiger Forces since the group’s formation in 2013; he has held several other roles inside the Syrian military.

One of the true heroes of this century. So are the thousands whose names we will never know, but whose heroic achievements honest men around the world will never forget. Glory to the Syrian Arab Republic, which is fighting not for Syria alone, but for all that humanity cherishes as true and just. (Sorry, if my words have become a bit too poetic, but it’s true.)

Major General Suheil Al-Hassan is a very good military strategist and has won a lot of battle for SAA. Tiger Forces definitively have created a niche brand for themselves with that winning streak & edge in them. I wish the Russians had not brokered the peace in Sochi with Turki and had let loose the Tiget Forces & SAA in Idlib last year itself rather than halting their military juggernaut all together. By now Tiger Forces along with RuAF would have cleared Idlib of HTS and FSA.
