The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” have restarted their military operations in the Kuweries Military Airport’s countryside after taking a brief hiatus to focus on clearing the area around the Al-Safira front from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
On Tuesday morning, the Tiger Forces – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions), Hezbollah, and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary) – launched a powerful assault on ISIS’ defensive positions along the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa Highway, targeting the Siyasko Chemical Factory’s western perimeter.
Following a series of intense firefights with the ISIS militants at the eastern perimeter of the Siyasko Chemical Factory, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces imposed full control over the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway entrance to this facility.
In addition to their advance along the western part of the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway, the Syrian Armed Forces and the Lebanese Resistance continued their assault on the strategic village of Humaymah Al-Kabeera, seizing its imperative hilltop after an intense firefight with the ISIS terrorists defensing this hilltop.
With the capture of Tal Humaymah, the SAA’s Tiger Forces are now in position to strike the western sector of the town that is currently under the control of ISIS.
If they are able to capture Humaymah Al-Kabeera, they will be in position to attack ISIS’ primary stronghold at Deir Hafer from two different flanks.
