Commander of Syrian Special Forces division assassinated in western Sweida

BERIUT, LEBANON (9:00 P.M.) – One of the commanders of the Syrian Army’s 15th Special Forces Division was assassinated in the western countryside of the Al-Sweida Governorate this week. According to reports, Brigadier General Jamal Al-Ahmad of the 15th Division was driving along Al-Hajj Road when a group unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Sleeper cells belonging to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have been operating inside the southern region of Syria, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) units in Dara’a, Al-Sweida, and Al-Quneitra.
