The Syrian army reportedly made progress in its offensive against Jabhat al-Nusra fighters in the Hama countryside, establishing control over a crucial plateau and a village, while advancing towards Kafr Nboudeh on Monday. The intensity of the fighting around Kafr Nboudeh was caught on footage, which shows jets, helicopters, artillery and tanks, as well as smoke billowing in the distance. Libyan National Army shoots down rival military plane near Tripoli

The Libyan National Army (LNA), of Khalifa Haftar, has shot down a military plane loyal to the Tripoli Government of National Accord (GNA) led by Fayez al-Sarraj, Sky News Arabia reported, referencing its own source. According to reports, the plane was shot down in the area of Al-Hir, south of Tripoli. The LNA’s forces have previously destroyed GNA aircraft, as well as planes belonging to group allied to it. Syrian Army attacks jihadist stronghold with new missile system (video)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s elite 4th Division began a powerful assault on the jihadist-held areas in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate on Monday. Led by the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces), the 4th Division unleashed a large number of missiles towards Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions inside the key mountaintop town of Kabani, which is situated near the Idlib Governorate border. Syrian militants fired 36 rockets at Russia’s Hmeimim airbase in two attacks on Monday, but both were repelled by the air defenses with no damage dealt, the Russian military said, adding that jets launched strikes in response. US increasing military presence in Middle East amid claims of Iranian threats

According to The Wall Street Journal, US intelligence has found out that Iran has plans to target US forces in Iraq and possibly in Syria, while it is also going to stage attacks in Ba-el-Mandeb strait near Yemen through its proxies and in the Persian Gulf with its own armed drones.
