Russian MoD makes surprise visit to Syria to send Assad message from Putin

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Tuesday, for talks on the fight against militancy and the situation in the region in general. According to the Ministry of Defence, Shoigu also delivered a message to Assad from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
