BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:55 A.M.) – A powerful explosion was reported by opposition activists in the jihadist stronghold of Binnish, Saturday, causing several casualties as a result of an IED (improvised explosive device).
Opposition activists claimed an IED was planted at Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s headquarters in Binnish prior to its detonation by an unknown assailant.
At least two Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham fighters were killed and more than ten others were wounded as a result of this explosion in Binnish.
Some opposition activists have accused Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham of carrying out this attack; however, the Al-Qaeda linked group has not officially taken responsibility for the bombing.
Recently, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has taken over several sites from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham near the Bab Al-Hawa border-crossing, causing the former allies to engage in violent clashes at a number of villages.
