This photo released in a statement by the Pakistani Taliban on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 shows the Taliban fighters who stormed a military-run school in Peshawar, Pakistan on Tuesday, killing more than 140 people, most of them children. In an email on Wednesday, the Pakistani Taliban spokesman Mohammad Khurasani claimed the attack was justified because the Pakistani army has allegedly long been killing innocent children and families of their fighters. DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:13 AM) – Nine people were killed and over 30 were injured when Taliban-affiliated terrorists reportedly attacked a student hostel inside the Agriculture School in Pakistan’s Peshawar province.

Local security forces would later manage to kill the members of the terrorist group after a pursuit that lasted over an hour. Witnesses stated that the attackers wore burqas to avoid detection and were equipped with suicide belts.

Army spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor praised the law enforcement’s performance in neutralizing the threat and alleged that the attack was planned in neighboring Afghanistan.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Peshawar encounters a terrorist attack of this scale. The troubled Pakistani province suffered a major tragedy back in 2014 when militants stormed a school killing over 140 pupils and injuring many others.
