DAMASCUS, SYRIA (10:50 A.M.) – The destruction of Deir Ezzor city was put on display by Syrian state media on Sunday as SANA reporters toured newly liberated residential areas of the embattled provincial capital.

With ISIS already expelled from much of the long-standing frontline, Syrian journalists entered the newly liberated Al-Arfi and Ummal districts and witnessed the devastation of a six-year long battle which has razed many buildings to the ground.

Most recently, the SAA has entered the Al-Jubeileh and Al-Hamidiyah suburbs, thereby moving into urban areas that have been off limits to government forces since 2012.

While heavy urban warfare is unfolding in Deir Ezzor city with government troops attacking besieged jihadist forces from all angles, Major General Suheil Al-Hassan is simultaneously leading the southern thrust into ISIS-held towns along of the Euphrates River.

Just shows what a Wahhabi Militant Islamic Cancer can do to a country. What beautiful independent residential houses of different shape & size and 20 feet road on both the sides for 2 vehicles to pass in one side and with a proper road divider and so well planned and now everything is completely destroyed & laid to waste. The entire city has to be bulldozed and rebuilt from scratch. A country already driven to poverty with 6 years of unwanted war and just dread the thought of cost of reconstruction. Daesh just came like cancerous locusts in hordes and… Read more »
