Russian defense minister, Sergey Shoigu, announced today that both Russian and Syrian air forces are ceasing airstrikes against rebels in the northern city of Aleppo for 48 hours a head of humanitarian ceasefire set to be implemented on Thursday, October 20th.

The 8-hour long humanitarian pause is meant to provide a safe exit for civilians trapped in the rebel-held districts of the city, as well as to allow more aid into the embattled city.

“The goal of this work is to separate the terrorist from the ‘moderate opposition’ and get them out of eastern Aleppo,” Shoigu said.

According to the prospected deal, Syria’s government forces will provide two safe corridors through which Islamist militants can leave the areas they control with their weapons.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Whereas in Mosul the US military are expecting the exodus of refugees fleeing American bombing to be of Biblical Proportions and over 1 million civilians.

Where is Moses when you need him 🙂 Mind you, on reflection , the US opened a corridor for Baghdadi and circa 9000 of his best terrorists to escape ,totally unmolested by USAF aircraft flying overhead.

So perhaps there is a modern day ‘Moses’ afterall 🙂

This statement is so true and funny at the same time…

Let’s see if the so-called rebels push the civilians out of the city, as the IHL and war laws are supposed to force them to do as a siege is nothing else than a battle zone! By not complying to it, they’re not doing anything else than a… war crime!
