DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:45 P.M.) – Rebel factions in Daraa sustained heavy casualties on Monday morning amid renewed clashes with an ISIS affiliate near the border with Israel.

According to Amaq Agency, the ISIS-linked ‘Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid’ militia have killed 25 rebels and wounded an additional 27 fighters in western Daraa thus far today.

ISIS reportedly ambushed Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and allied Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups as the latter attempted to retake the Jaleen housing area.

Two days ago, Amaq also claimed 44 rebels were killed or injured as Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid repelled an assault on the village of Adwan.

Meanwhile, preliminary reports emerging this morning suggest HTS and the FSA have fully captured the Al-Manshiyah neighborhood in the provincial capital of Daraa.

Nevertheless, the FSA and HTS are estistamed to have lost approximately 1,000 militants amid battles with Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid and the SAA since February.
