BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:10 P.M.) – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad issued Decree No. 76 of 2020, scheduling the date for the parliamentary elections on Monday, April 3rd, 2020.

The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic on Facebook announced that President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree specifying the date of Monday April 3rd, 2020 as the date for the election of members of the People’s Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) published a copy of the decree, the first article of which stipulates that the date of the election will be fixed as a date for the election of members of the People’s Assembly to the third legislative role.

As for the second article, it was decided to limit the number of members of the People’s Assembly assigned to each of the workers and peasants sector and the rest of the people’s sectors in each of the electoral districts.

According to the previous article, the total number of members included 250 members from all governorates, 127 of them were allocated to the workers and farmers sector, while 123 was allocated to the rest of the people’s sector.

Yep, Syria will have parliamentary elections followed shortly by those in the various Western-backed GCC states (not really!).
