BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:45 .Residents of Al-Moseifera flocked to Martyrs Square on Monday, where they voiced their support for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) following the town’s liberation from militant control earlier this month.

Locals, officials and soldiers gathered in the town’s centre, where they hoisted the Syrian national flag high into the air. Some chanted and clapped, while others held up portraits of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

According to Syrian government news agency SANA, army units restored the town to safety on July 2 following fierce clashes with militants.

Al-Moseifera town is located in the eastern countryside of Daraa province, where the Syrian army is undertaking operations to push remaining militants from the area.
