BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday afternoon that the towns of Al-Sabakah, Shinan, and Jabli in southeast Al-Raqqa are fully secured and free of explosives.

Furthermore, the Syrian Ministry of Defense encouraged the displaced residents of these towns to return home.

Al-Sabakah, Shinan, and Jabli were occupied by the Islamic State (ISIL) earlier this month before the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated the towns.

With almost all of southeast Al-Raqqa liberated, the Syrian Arab Army has set its sights on the Deir Ezzor Governorate, which is only steps away from their positions in Ma’adan.
