BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense stated on Tuesday that their air defense scored a direct hit on an Israeli warplane that was flying near the Syrian border last night.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the Israeli warplane had fired several rockets towards the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in Qutayfah, hitting an arms depot and military base before the Syrian Air Defense units fired an anti-aircraft missile at the fighter jet.

Al-Masdar has reached out to the Syrian military for information regarding the anti-aircraft strike – no response has been given thus far.

The total number of casualties from Tuesday’s assault is still unknown.
