BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has foiled another big Islamic State (ISIS) offensive in eastern Homs, a military source in the province told Al-Masdar News this evening.
According to the source, the Islamic State launched a powerful attack in the Badiya Al-Sham region of eastern Homs last night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions inside the Hamimah area near the T-3 Pumping Station.
A fierce battle would ensue for hours and end with the Islamic State’s terrorists withdrawing back in the desert before sunrise on Wednesday morning.
Following the attack, the Syrian Arab Air Force conducted a number of airstrikes over the Hamimah area, targeting sites believed to be Islamic State posts.
With all of the terrorists from southern Damascus in the Badiya Al-Sham region, the Islamic State has repeatedly attempted to expand their presence in this part of the country.
