BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – Units of from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their advance in the northern part of the Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood in southern Damascus, today, scoring new advances against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).
Backed by heavy airstrikes, the Syrian military was able to kill scores of Islamic State terrorists, while also securing several areas that were recently liberated.
The SAA’s engineering units are enhancing their points in these liberated building blocks and restoring many areas that were laced with explosives by the terrorist forces.
A Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) correspondent claimed that Syrian Air Force (SyAAF) and the army’s artillery carried out many attacks against the terrorists, destroying several of the Islamic State’s hideouts, fortifications, trenches and means of supply.
Terrorists in al-Hajar al-Aswad are heavily relying on snipers in a desperate attempt to delay the progress of the Syrian Arab Army’s soldiers who are now experienced in dealing with them, said the correspondent.
