BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 A.M.) – On Tuesday, reports surfaced from pro-opposition monitors that 30 Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers were killed in eastern Homs after the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) ambushed their positions.
Al-Masdar reached out to the Syrian military to corroborate these claims from these pro-opposition monitors.
While the ambush did in fact take place, the Syrian military denied that 30 soldiers were killed in the attack.
According to the Syrian military, 16 soldiers were killed during the ambush, while another 15 were wounded.
The Syrian military added that they later pushed back the encroaching Islamic State terrorists after they made a push near the T-3 Pumping Station.
