DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:00 P.M.) – The Syrian government demanded on Saturday night that the jihadist rebels surrender themselves in the next 24 hours or else face a massive military operation from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
Jaysh Al-Fateh and Fatah Halab have not responded to the Syrian government’s demands of surrender, despite the dire humanitarian situation in the eastern pocket of Aleppo.
According to an Al-Mayadeen field correspondent, the Syrian Arab Army is set to launch a massive military operation at midnight on Monday, targeting the jihadist-held eastern districts of Aleppo.
Recently, the Syrian Armed Forces have refrained from targeting the eastern districts of Aleppo in order to allow for civilians to leave the jihadist-held territory; however, reports from the area indicate that the jihadist rebels are unwilling to allow civilians to flee and unwilling to allow humanitarian aid into their neighborhoods.
Should the Syrian Armed Forces launch this massive assault tonight, it will most likely concentrate on the Sheih Sa’eed, Sakhour, Al-‘Oweija, and Hanano districts.
