The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) claimed in another announcement on Thursday that their forces downed a Syrian fighter jet outside the Khalkhalah Military Airbase in the Al-Sweida Governorate.

ISIS’ official media wing “Al-Amaq” claimed that the Syrian pilot was able to eject to safety near the Khalkhalah Airbase before his fighter jet crashed.

The High Command of the Syrian Armed Forces have yet to corroborate this report posted by Al-Amaq; moreover, very few Syrian Arab Army pages reported this news.

I think DAESH is making this claims to boost their fighters morale.
But somehow, it seems the have managed to get some new advanced weaponry able to treaten airplanes, because a month ago, they hadn’t made any such claims…

‘Claims’. The ‘claim’ about the Russian jet was false. It’s war, guys.

If ISIS manages to down a Russian jet, Russia may roll out the strategic nukes, but is certain to ramp things up ten fold.

@Kopfz : Russians got the FOAB, the Father of All Boombs, a kind of fuel-air+thermobaric horror. in a 600m diameter circle, everything is calcinated. It is equivalent to a small tactical nuclear weapon without the fallouts… Strategic nukes? Are you mad? A 1MT nuke can down a building @15/20, maybe 30km, any atmospheric nuking puts in the atmoshere fallouts, those which will imply about 1 million cancer disease! Even tactical nukes are to be avoided, the only practical use would have been, in a cold war context, when Russia had 65,000 tanks, to stop their rush in case of massive… Read more »
