BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:45 A.M.) – A senior commander of the jihadist group “Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham” was reportedly assassinated in the northern part of the Idlib Governorate on Friday.
According to opposition activists, the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham commander, “Abu Jalabib”, was killed on Friday when an unknown assailants opened fire on the jihadist leader near the border-town of Al-Dana.
No group has claimed responsibility for this assassination.
Some opposition activists have accused members of a sleeper cell belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) of carrying out this assassination.
Daesh has assassinated several commanders of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in the past, so it would not be out of the realm of possibility for them to do this again.
