BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:50 P.M.) – The Syrian government is preparing to reopen the Homs-Hama Highway after being closed for years due to the war.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has fully secured the northern countryside of Homs, following the departure of the last militants and their family members from the area.

Furthermore, the Syrian government has settled the cases of 3,000 rebels that were seeking amnesty inside the towns of Al-Rastan, Talbiseh, Zafranah, Ezzeddine, Dart Kabeera, and Taldo.

The Syrian government will now spend the next few weeks trying to repair the highway near the strategic town of Al-Rastan.
