BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) – The Syrian government and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have resumed trading oil and goods in eastern Syria after short hiatus due to undisclosed reasons.
According to a source in Damascus, government transport tanks have crossed the Euphrates from the SDF territories this week in order to deliver a large amount of oil to different areas of Syria.
The resumption of the oil trade in eastern Syria is incredibly important to the Syrian government as the recent fuel crisis has caused many issues across the country.
By resuming trade in eastern Syria, the SDF also makes money through oil sales and the distribution of goods to the government areas.
While the U.S. opposes the Syrian government, they have not obstructed the SDF’s oil sales to Damascus.
