Syria demands Turkey withdraw its troops from Syrian territory immediately, speaker of the Syrian People’s Council, or parliament, Hammouda Sabbagh said on Sunday.
“The Syrian parliament demands Turkish troops be withdrawn from the Syrian territory without preliminary conditions,” he said at a plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
He accused Turkey of “invading the Idlib province and infringing upon Syria’s sovereignty.”
“It runs counter to the agreement reached in Astana,” he stressed.
“The Syrian parliament condemns Turkey’s behavior. We consider it as a threat to security of our citizens and violation of international law,” he concluded
