DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:55 P.M.) – Local fighters successfully foiled an offensive launched by jihadi groups on the besieged Foua and Kafraya towns in rural Idlib as several airstrikes pounded rebel positions.

Jihadi groups, spearheaded by Uzbek and Turkistan militants, initiated the assault from two axis; Sawaghiyah from the east and Barouma from west, using mortars and artillery against the defenders’ positions.

Fierce clashes then ensued for more than 10 hours with the government forces foiling the attack while losing at least 6 fighters. Jihadi assailants, on the other hand, suffered heavy losses with 4 militants killed and more than 10 others wounded.

The attack, proved a blatant violation of the agreed-on ceasefire, was met with a decisive response. Syrian and Russian fighter jets pummeled positions, headquarters and supply lines for the ultraconservative militants.

The jihadi-held towns of Binnish, Sawaghiyah, Maarrat Masrin, Taftanaz, Barouma and Um Hamdan were under heavy aerial bombardment.

Just read about the Hudaybiyyah treaty then you know that the jihadis’ parole worth less than shït and that any truce, cease-fire and peace treaty has no but tactical/strategic value for them : they just do this when it’s obvious for them they can’t win and will use it to reorganise and grow their power! Their book even tells to regularly probe the defences to evaluate these. As long as jihadis are not eradicated, they’ll attack over and over and over again. Only being merciless and taking decisive actions is efficient. Making them conscious that they won’t go to heaven… Read more »
