BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The pro-government Desert Hawks Brigade (Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra), alongside the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Liwaa Fatemiyoun, launched a new assault in the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate this morning.

Backed by heavy airstrikes from the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF), the Desert Hawks and their allies stormed the large hilltop of Tal Huwa’yat and nearby area of Al-Maksar, scoring direct hits on the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses in this region of the Salamiyah District.

Not long after launching these attacks, the Desert Hawks and their allies announced liberation of both Tal Huwa’yat and Al-Maksar after a short battle with ISIL.

The Desert Hawks and their allies are now targeting the Islamic State’s last positions at the southeastern axis of ‘Aqareb, a strategic town in the Salamiyah District’s eastern countryside.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.
