Syrian government urged rebels in the districts they control in eastern Aleppo to make available all food supplies they had confiscated earlier for civilians in order to ease their suffering.
Several aid convoys had previously made their way inside the besieged eastern parts of Aleppo, and meant to be distributed to the distressed civilians. However, Jihadi groups there denied civilians the food supplies.
Days ago, angry civilians took the streets of eastern Aleppo to protest the blockade of food supplies. The militants responded with opening fire at the protestors, killing and injuring more than 40, including two teenagers.
In a related context, the Syrian Armed Forces called on Aleppo militants to remove the mines they had planted along the safe corridors to allow civilians a safe exist into government-held parts.
Meanwhile, Army helicopters dropped leaflets, offering militants new opportunity to hand over their weapons and have their status settled by the Syrian authorities.
