BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big offensive in the western sector of Aleppo today, targeting the jihadist defenses south of the Al-Zahra’a Association Quarter.
Led by the 5th Legion and 30th Division of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army attempted to advance north of the Al-Tamourah axis, striking the jihadist defenses at the Al-Kharbah area.
However, the Syrian Arab Army’s assault would prove unsuccessful today, as the jihadist rebels were well-prepared for this offensive near the Al-Zahra’a Quarter.
According to a military source in Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army lost 23 soldiers during today’s assault, along with one tank that was destroyed by an anti-tank missile.
Today’s unsuccessful assault by the Syrian Arab Army marks the third failed attack they have conducted this week in the western sector of Aleppo.
