BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored an important advance in the Deir Ezzor Governorate, Tuesday, liberating a large area located between the strategic cities of Albubakal and Al-Mayadeen.
Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Islamic State’s (IS) positions at the strategic town of Al-Jalaa, which is located at the western bank of the Euphrates River.
Not long after launching the attack on Al-Jalaa, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces managed to breakthrough the Islamic State’s front-lines and expel the terrorist group from the entire town.
With Al-Jalaa liberated, the Syrian Arab Army is now on the verge of linking up with their forces that are positioned just north of Albukamal city.
In addition to linking up with their forces, the Syrian Army is about to connect the main road between the cities of Albukamal and Al-Mayadeen, marking the first time in five years that the government has access to this roadway.
