BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 A.M.) – For the second day in-a-row, intense fighting has been reported from the eastern suburbs of Damascus, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) takes the offensive against the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Rahman.

With reinforcements arriving late yesterday, the Syrian Arab Army launched a decisive counter-offensive to regain the territory they lost around the ‘Abbasiyeen-Jobar axis.

Led by the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard this morning, the Syrian Arab Army recaptured several points they lost, including the area surrounding the Alboumar Garages.

While several reports claim the Syrian Arab Army has restored all lost points, local sources informed Al-Masdar this morning that fierce clashes are still ongoing between the opposing parties.
