BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s High Command is doubling down on their upcoming southwest Syria offensive, as they have sent another tank division to the province of Dara’a.
According to the 11th Tank Division, their troops from the 47th and 87th brigades have been redeployed from the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate to the northeastern part of Dara’a.
These two brigades will join forces with the 4th Division and Republican Guard troops that were redeployed to this front last month.
Both the 47th and 87th brigades have been involved in several operations in the past, including the several offensives in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
The two 11th Division brigades were also at the forefront of Idlib city’s defense, which resulted in their large-scale withdrawal from the entire province in late April 2015.
