DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 P.M.) – Syrian authorities have found large quantities of weapons and ammunition used by Islamist rebels in Barzeh neighborhood, north Damascus,

The weapon cache, hidden in a cellar of one of the half-destroyed buildings, include rocket and mortar shells, homegrown bombs, explosive belts and materials (including the highly-explosive C4), sniper rifles, RPGs and their launchers, night vision goggles in addition to huge quantities of ammunition of various kinds and chemical masks.

In May 2017, The Syrian government has officially taken full control of the Barzeh District in Damascus after the last batch of militants and their families exited the area.
