BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a powerful attack against the jihadist rebels in northern Latakia this week, targeting several sites belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham near the Turkish border.
Using their MLRS launchers, the Syrian Army launched a large number of missiles towards the jihadist positions in an effort to weaken their defenses in the Jabal Al-Akrad region of northern Latakia.
As shown in the video below, the Syrian Army targeted the positions of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their foreign jihadist allies that are still operating in the Jabal Al-Akrad and Jabal Al-Turkmen regions of Latakia:
The Syrian Army will likely shift their attention to the Latakia Governorate in the coming months, as they complete their field operations in southern Syria.
For the most part, the jihadist rebels are unable to advance in the northern Latakia countryside, thanks in large part to the Russian military presence around the province.
However, the current issue for the Syrian Army in northern Latakia is the Turkish military presence in the Jabal Al-Akrad region.
The Turkish military setup an illegal observation post in Jabal Al-Akrad, which has mostly proven to be a launching point for jihadist attacks against the Syrian Army.
