BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 P.M.) – While combing through the east Homs countryside on Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered an old Islamic State (ISIS) base that was filled with a large quantity of weapons.

According to a military report, the old ISIS base was found in the town of Al-Haibah, which is located northwest of the former Islamic State stronghold of Al-Sukhnah.

Inside the old ISIS base was a large amount of IEDs, mortar launchers, assault rifles, and more than 100 mortar shells.

Following their defeat last year in the eastern countryside of Homs, the Islamic State began hiding their weapons inside of several caves and secret bases in order to launch hit-and-run attacks against the Syrian Army.
