Intense battles between the government forces and jihadi groups have renewed in the Western Ghout region amid Amy advance.

A military source told Al-Masdar News that the Syrian Army managed, today, to seize a new territory from the Islamist militants after fierce clashes that took place to the west of the recently-recaptured Air Defense Battalion.

Earlier on Friday, the Syrian Army separated the rebel-held town of Khan al-Shih from the Western Ghouta region after reclaiming the strategic Air Defense Battalion.

Meanwhile, the Army units pounded – with heavy artillery shelling –rebel positions near Drousha village, killing and wounding a number of them militants.
