BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 A.M.) – Prior to the Islamic State’s agreement to reenter talks with the government in southern Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big assault to liberate the terrorist group’s last pocket.

Led by their tank troops, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault by storming several axes inside the Yarmouk Camp and northern part of Hajar Al-Aswad.

Video footage of this attack in southern Damascus was captured by a Russian channel on Saturday:

The Islamic State is expected to surrender their last positions in the Yarmouk Camp and Hajar Al-Aswad in the next 48 hours, as they have already lost a considerable amount of ground.

Any ISIS that do not willing to die in the Yarmouk pocket should be forced to surrender unconditionally in my opinion.

Bussing them to Deir Ezzor will justifiably antagonise Iraq .

There is a counter argument that SAA troops could be posted to Deir Ezzor sooner to confront the increasing US/ISIS threat there if the ISIS in Yarmouk accepted a transfer agreement.
