BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:15 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has taken control of the Tal Tamr District of Al-Hasakah after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) withdraw from the area.
According to the Syrian Army, their troops have deployed to the district and setup checkpoints inside the town of Tal Tamr.
In February 2015, over 220 Assyrian civilians in Tal Tamr were kidnapped by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist organization.
Of the 220 civilians that were kidnapped, less than 30 of them have been released by the Islamic State since 2015. The remaining civilians are still missing; their whereabouts are still unknown.
