Latakia (9:49 P.M.): The Syrian Arab Army has surrounded the strategic mountaintop town of Kinsibba in the Latakia Governorate’s northern countryside, as they prepare to launch their large-scale counter-offensive to recover the area around the Turkish border.

A Syrian Arab Army officer told Al-Masdar News on Tuesday that his forces are in position to strike Kinsibba at any time now; however, they are awaiting orders from the military’s high command.

The source added that the Syrian Armed Forces, led by the republican guard, have already begun targeting the jihadist rebels with heavy artillery and missiles in order to weaken their resolve at the town of Kinsibba.

With the southern and eastern flanks surrounded by the Syrian Armed Forces, the jihadist rebels may consider withdrawing from Kinsibba before the government launches this wide-scale assault in northern Latakia.

Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), the primary jihadist force in northern Latakia, has sent a significant number of reinforcements to the southern Aleppo countryside, despite being outnumbered near Kinsibba.

The jihadist rebels captured the imperative town of Kinsibba last week after launching a massive offensive at Jabal Al-Akrad and Jabal Turkmen.

Is there something that can make us have a global idea on all the ‘groups’ acting in Syria (not only rebels/terrorists) : alliees, allegiance, goals, manpower, armament, location, especially as there are even under-groups, especially in FSA : some are secular rebels, other are fanatical shithadists.
It looks like there may be more than a hundred!

why SAA acts like firefighters? first lose some territory, and only then allocates resources to recapture that territory, instead of simply holding on to it and not letting it being captured in the first place.
